Light Rifle Re-done

I've been playing Halo 4 and I've come to believe that the Light Rifle was poorly designed... it looks way to much like the Binary Rifle. The two weapons are indistinguishable at a glance, which is a bad thing since in an action game you don't want to be staring at a gun to figure out what it is. I was also disappointed that the gun is supposed to be designed by almost god-like ancient aliens and looks at best like an angry triangle:
